As straplines go, ‘Going from Good to Great Within a Caring and Achieving Community’, couldn’t be a more fitting phrase to describe the recent developments as Wallasey School. The school has had a truly amazing year, from superb sporting achievements, to outstanding academic gains and of course major recognition of their talent in performing arts.

With two ‘outstanding’ Ofsteds in the bag and national exposure as the overall winners of Sky 1’s School Musical 2009, the accolades seem never ending for the school. Headteacher Mr Philip Duffy commented, ‘There really has never been a better time to send your young people to Wallasey School. The whole school is literally buzzing with success at the moment, and both our Ofsted and exam results are reflecting this.’

This wave of success is the culmination of years of hard work and commitment. Strong leadership, loyal, talented staff and students who feel they really can ‘achieve anything’, has allowed Wallasey to claim the mantle of Wirral’s most fast moving school – definitely the one to watch in 2010! ‘We truly are going from good to great, in every sense,’ commented Mr Duffy. ‘Ultimately we are only as good as our talented and hard-working students, so it’s incredibly important we continue to attract tomorrow’s stars, today.’
