Behaviour & Discipline

D904-128 (* NEW *)

Our Policy

“Relationships between teachers and students are very good, and there is an ethos that promotes learning. Most students behave well and their attitudes to learning are good. The school is an orderly community. Good behaviour is supported by effective procedures. Teachers’ management of students is good.” OFSTED Report (November 1999).

The schools’ discipline policy is based on the principle of order without repression. In a large school like Wallasey, it is necessary to maintain good order but we believe this can be done without creating an authoritarian environment.

We operate a policy of positive behaviour which is designed to encourage and reward good behaviour, whilst discouraging and taking appropriate sanctions against poor and anti-social behaviour.

Our school rules are clearly published in the Induction Booklet we hand out to new pupils on Induction Day. The school actively seeks the support and co-operation of parents and will respond promptly to any parental enquiry or communication.

Our Home School Agreement reflects our expectations and how pupils can work with us to ensure good discipline through active and positive involvement.
