Pupil Development

A Happy Child Succeeds

D904-280 (* NEW *)

Our staff at Wallasey School strives to support and care for children so they can reach their full potential. Each Form Tutor plays a vital role by looking after the form, getting to know the pupils, understanding their problems, taking an interest in their progress and providing some form of continuity as they move up through the school.

The Head of Year and Assistant also progress through the school with their year students so they get to know them better. They will get in touch with you should any problem arise, and likewise they would like you to get in touch with any concerns.

Order & Discipline

Our code of conduct is based on courtesy and respect for others where order is required at all times. The aim is to encourage, recognise and reward achievement and to praise considerate and courteous behaviour. Students at Wallasey School have their own Planners and all staff, including Classroom Assistants and Learning Mentors, help the students to take responsibility for monitoring their work and attendance.

Attendance & Punctuality

By law, children are required to attend school regularly and punctually unless the school has written permission for absence. We monitor attendance carefully and aim for first day contact if a student is absent and away from class. The Educational Social Worker investigates unexplained absences and will be on hand to offer support where there are difficulties. In the case of an illness, a note must be sent with the child on his or her return to school.
